On 03/12/2026, Dallas police investigating an outstanding warrant tracked Diamon-Mazairre Robinson into a parking garage at Children’s Health hospital in Dallas. Police said Robinson barricaded himself inside a vehicle and SWAT officers responded. Police deployed tear gas to force him out. Police said Robinson exited holding a gun and pointed it toward officers, who opened fire and killed him. Reporting identified Robinson as a former member of U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s security team who had recently used the alias “Mike King” while running a business placing off-duty officers in private security jobs. Crockett’s office had not publicly commented at the time of reporting.

Officers encountered a 30-year-old man and police said he advanced toward them while holding a knife and refused commands to drop it. Officers opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released his identity. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
