OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 01/24/2026, Pennsylvania State Police troopers responded to a call about a man with a gun at a home on Rockdale Road in North Whitehall. Troopers found the man seated in the driver seat of a parked car in a driveway and attempted to communicate with him. During the standoff, police reported the man fired a handgun from inside the car and pointed the handgun toward troopers. Pennsylvania State Police Special Emergency Response Team responded, and a trooper shot the man during the encounter. He was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest, where he died later that day. The Lehigh County Coroner later reported an autopsy found the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
