On 01/31/2026, Mount Juliet police responded overnight to reports of an active shooter at Cedar Creek Marina. Officers located a man on a boat at the marina after reports that one person had already been shot. During the encounter, police opened fire and killed the man. A second man who had been shot earlier was also found dead at the scene. Authorities stated the individual killed by police was the person responsible for the earlier shooting.
