OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/01/2026, Garvin County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a man in a vehicle east of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. The driver did not stop and police escalated a high speed chase. After the pursuit, the man barricaded himself inside a residence. A prolonged standoff followed. Deputies later entered the home and found the man dead from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities stated the man died by suicide while law enforcement was present. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is reviewing the incident.
