On 02/01/2026, Garvin County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a man in a vehicle in Garvin County, Oklahoma. The driver did not stop and police escalated a chase. During the pursuit, the man detonated an explosive device inside the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the explosion. Authorities stated the explosive device was self activated. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is conducting the investigation.
