On 02/11/2026, Clackamas County deputies attempted to stop Douglas Richard York on Interstate 205 after observing speeding and identifying him as wanted on a felony warrant earlier that day. Deputies escalated a pursuit southbound near West Linn. York drove a white Lexus that rear ended a Volkswagen Golf, lost control, rolled, and was ejected from the vehicle. A following Toyota struck him after the rollover. He died at the scene. Authorities identified York as a 54 year old Crooked River Ranch resident who had been scheduled for sentencing that day in a prior robbery case. Oregon State Police assumed control of the crash reconstruction and investigation.
