OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/13/2026 at about 2:25 p.m., officers responded to reports of a domestic dispute and pursuit involving two vehicles on I-20 Eastbound. Witnesses reported a man following others during the dispute. Officers located both vehicles and when the man exited his vehicle holding a firearm and walked toward his wife’s car and a responding officer, officers fired. The man was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene. No officers reported injuries. State investigators are reviewing the fatal shooting and will submit findings to the local prosecutor.
