OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/17/2026, Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies went to a residence in the Lake Wildwood neighborhood to serve an eviction notice. Shortly after arriving, deputies heard gunshots from inside the home and called for SWAT and negotiators. A standoff followed. When law enforcement made entry, they found Ray Summers and two other victims inside. Summers had died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound after the confrontation with police began. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
