OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/17/2026 around 8:30 a.m., SWAT officers with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department were executing a search warrant at a residence in the 8400 block of South Broadway near Marceau. Officers spent approximately 15 minutes issuing multiple commands for occupants to exit with hands up. All occupants left except the target of the warrant. SWAT officers entered the home and again ordered the man to exit and drop any weapons. The man refused, announced he had a gun, and did not comply with commands to drop it. A SWAT officer, fearing for his life, fired his weapon and struck the man, who died at the scene. A handgun was recovered and no officers were injured. The incident is under investigation by SLMPD force detectives.
