On 02/18/2026, Pensacola Police responded around 3:40 p.m. to reports of a man firing multiple shots inside the Carlton Palms condominium complex on Garden Street, where residents encountered the man holding a gun as officers arrived and confronted him in the parking area. Police gave repeated commands for him to drop the gun, and when he refused, officers opened fire and injured him. He was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries following the officer-involved shooting tied to the initial shots-fired call inside the residential building.
