On 02/20/2026, Jefferson Josue Rodas entered Seven Fades Hair Studio in Pflugerville and fired a gun inside the business. An off-duty Austin Police Department officer who was inside the barbershop opened fire and struck Rodas. He died from gunshot wounds. A barbershop employee who was shot ran to a nearby home and was transported to a hospital with injuries reported as not life threatening. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting. Authorities have not released a motive and have not publicly identified the officer who fired.
