OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 02/22/2026, Allegheny County 911 received a call from a man stating he was armed and threatening to harm himself and others at a residence on the 1700 block of Washington Street in Heidelberg. Heidelberg Police Department and Scott Township Police Department officers responded and located the man outside holding a knife. Police said officers ordered him to drop the knife. A Heidelberg officer deployed a taser, which did not stop him. A Scott Township officer then opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital, where he died. Allegheny County Police are conducting the investigation.
