On 02/22/2026, METRO Police Department officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at the Bell Station platform in downtown Houston after a train operator reported a man with a gun. Officers located the man on the platform holding a firearm. Police said officers gave commands for him to drop the gun. When he did not do so immediately, officers opened fire and struck him. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.
