On 02/23/2026, Fairfax County police responded to an apartment on the 3900 block of Persimmon Circle for a domestic stabbing. Police reported that a man stabbed his wife and adult daughter inside the apartment and then stabbed his son in law outside as he cleared snow and called 911. Officers arrived and confronted the man while he was holding a large knife and actively attacking the son in law. Police ordered him to drop the knife. He did not comply. An officer opened fire and struck him. He died from gunshot wounds. The wife and daughter died from their injuries. The son in law was transported in critical condition. A one year old child inside the apartment was not physically injured.
