On 02/24/2026, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to reports of a male stabbing multiple people outside a home near the Key Peninsula in Gig Harbor, Washington. Deputies encountered Aleksandr Shablykin armed with a knife and stabbing multiple people. Officers attempted to intervene and Shablykin continued to pose a lethal threat to others. Deputies discharged their firearms, striking Shablykin, who died of his injuries. Four people died from their injuries after being stabbed outside the residence. Pierce County investigators continue to review the incident.
