OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 03/01/2026, deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the area of Ladson Road and Jamison Road in Ladson, South Carolina after receiving a report of a wanted individual. Deputies identified the driver as 42-year-old David Tisdale of Summerville, who authorities said was wanted by the North Charleston Police Department on an attempted murder charge and also had five active General Sessions Court bench warrants. Deputies arrested Tisdale and placed him in the back seat of a patrol vehicle. While inside the patrol car, Tisdale experienced what deputies described as a medical emergency. Deputies removed him from the vehicle and attempted lifesaving measures, including CPR and Narcan, while emergency responders from the North Charleston Fire Department and Dorchester County EMS arrived and continued treatment. Tisdale was transported to Summerville Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified him the following day. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death.
