On 06/06/2026, Cleveland police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Johnston Parkway involving a blue Kia that had been reported stolen. Investigators believe the 13-year-old driver lost control while speeding through a curve, causing the vehicle to strike a light pole with its rear before crashing into a tree. Cleveland firefighters extricated both occupants from the wreckage. The 12-year-old passenger, Aydin Taylor, died shortly after arriving at the hospital. The 13-year-old driver, Jayden Allen, remained in critical condition before dying several days later. During the investigation, police determined the Kia had been reported stolen and recovered a stolen firearm from inside the vehicle. There is no indication police were pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash.
