OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 03/02/2026 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Pasadena police officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Metro A Line station near Sierra Madre Villa Avenue and Foothill Boulevard in Pasadena, California. Officers learned a person had been shot in the shoulder at the station. While searching the surrounding area, officers located a man matching the suspect description nearby. Police attempted to stop him and the man ran, leading officers on a foot pursuit through the area. During the pursuit the man and officers exchanged gunfire. A Pasadena police officer was shot during the gun battle and transported to Huntington Hospital where he underwent surgery and was reported stable. Officers shot and killed the man at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the officer-involved shooting, which occurred near the Hastings Village shopping center and the Sierra Madre Villa Metro station.
