On 03/08/2026, New Orleans police attempted to stop a Chevrolet Camaro connected to a prior stolen-vehicle report. Police said the driver did not stop and they chased the car through the city before the pursuit ended on North Broad Street beneath the Interstate 610 overpass when the Camaro crashed into another vehicle. Authorities said a pregnant occupant in the struck vehicle suffered critical injuries and her unborn child died. Police later booked the driver, Caleb Ezidore, 26, on charges including second-degree feticide, aggravated flight from an officer, illegal possession of stolen things, two counts negligent injuring, reckless operation, and multiple traffic violations. Police said the Camaro had been reported stolen in December 2025 and had previously fled officers on Feb. 14, 2026. The investigation remains ongoing.
