On 03/10/2026, Bradenton police responded to the 300 block of 10th Avenue West for a reported domestic disturbance involving William “Willie” Tyrone Bell. Police said Bell had a knife and ignored commands while officers attempted to take him into custody. Officers opened fire, striking and killing him. Bell died shortly after. Authorities said the officers involved were placed on administrative leave while the Florida Department of Law Enforcement began an investigation.
