OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 03/11/2026, Sweetwater police responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 11000 block of SW 7th Terrace. Officers encountered a 30-year-old man and police said he advanced toward them while holding a knife and refused commands to drop it. Officers opened fire, striking him. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released his identity. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
