On 03/08/2026, Columbus police attempted to stop a vehicle. The driver did not stop. Police chased the vehicle through city streets. During the pursuit, a fleeing driver ran a stop sign and struck a Saturn Ion at East Livingston Avenue and Courtright Road. Shaquille Deandre Washington, who was driving the struck vehicle, died from injuries caused by the crash.
