On 03/20/2026, Metro Nashville Police Department officers tracked a stolen Ford F-250 after it was taken from a car lot earlier in the day. Police used a helicopter to follow the vehicle as the driver continued driving across the city. After the driver struck an unmarked police vehicle, officers escalated a pursuit along Murfreesboro Pike. The driver entered oncoming traffic at high speed and collided with a sedan as Oluwalayomi Fadero, 23, was turning into her neighborhood. Her vehicle was pushed a significant distance into a ditch. She died from injuries caused by the crash. The driver survived and was later charged in connection with her death.
