On 03/26/2026, Fulton police responded to a report of a person in the water calling for help at Morningside Lake. Police and firefighters searched the lake with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. They later recovered Wallace Franklin Jr. from the water and he was pronounced dead.
