On 03/27/2026, Louisville Metro Police responded to a call about a woman experiencing a mental health crisis at an apartment on Vieux Carre Drive. Officers encountered Katelyn Hall inside a bathroom with self-inflicted injuries. After firefighters forced entry, Hall exited and moved toward officers holding a sharp object. Officers opened fire and shot her. She was transported to a hospital where she died.
