On 03/27/2026, deputies with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office responded to a reported shooting at a residence on Seattle Slew Lane in Hope Mills. Deputies identified the incident as a domestic disturbance involving two off-duty law enforcement officers. Deputies arrived at the residence and located Adam Bean with a gunshot wound. Deputies confirmed his death at the location.
