On 03/27/2026, deputies with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a woman holding a firearm at a residence in the Deer Creek area. Deputies attempted to detain her. She got into a pickup truck and drove away. Deputies escalated a chase, and additional units from the Oklahoma City Police Department and Oklahoma Highway Patrol joined. During the pursuit, officers attempted multiple vehicle intervention maneuvers. The driver continued driving and entered Interstate 44, where a trooper conducted another intervention that ended the pursuit near Southwest 59th Street. The vehicle struck another vehicle during the sequence. After the vehicle stopped, officers reported that she pointed a gun while inside the vehicle. Eleven officers opened fire and killed her. Eleven officers from multiple agencies discharged their weapons.
