OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/01/2026, Pomona Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on East 10th Street. While officers were speaking with a woman, a man returned in a truck, struck a parked patrol vehicle, and drove away. Police chased him south on Garey Avenue. During the chase, the driver entered an intersection at County Road and crashed into another vehicle. An unborn child carried by Jennifer Alejandra Loera Zarco, who was eight months pregnant and due to be born soon, also died as a result of the crash. Police arrested the driver at the crash site. Authorities stated he faces charges including vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and evading police. The motorist who hit the vehicle was charged with 3 homicides, including the baby.
