On 03/29/2026, a Harris County Sheriff’s deputy attempted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle run a red light at Spring Cypress Road and Louetta Road. The driver did not stop, turned off the vehicle’s lights, and accelerated away. The deputy searched the area and located the vehicle after it crashed into a wooded area near the 14900 block of Telge Road. The vehicle had gone down an embankment and caught fire. A second person remained inside the vehicle and died in the fire. Investigators stated speed was a factor in the crash.
