On 04/04/2026, deputies responded to a reported domestic violence assault involving a vehicle near North Argonne Road and East Upriver Drive in Spokane. Deputies located the vehicle, and a woman exited and required assistance. Deputies attempted to detain the driver, who did not comply and drove away. Deputies chased the vehicle along Upriver Drive. During the pursuit, the driver lost control near Camp Sekani, struck a parked vehicle, and crashed into a tree. The driver died following the crash.
