A Booneville police officer attempted to stop Gary Blaylock on Arkansas Highway 23. He did not stop. Police escalated a pursuit and were joined by Arkansas State Police. Officers used a rolling block maneuver near 6883 S AR-23 to stop his vehicle. Blaylock exited the vehicle holding a gun. Officers opened fire, striking him. He died from his injuries.
