On 04/07/2026, Henry County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a wooded area near the 50 block of Berry Hill Court Extension in Martinsville. Deputies encountered Christopher Shepard during the response. During the encounter, deputies opened fire, striking him. He was pronounced dead.
