OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/09/2026, Aurora Police Department officers responded to a report of a man in a mental health crisis at an apartment complex in the 14000 block of East Stanford Circle. Officers and a crisis response team attempted to communicate with him. Police reported the man was holding a knife and threatening harm. He ran out of the residence and stabbed an officer in the head. The officer opened fire, striking him. He died after the shooting.
