On 04/11/2026, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a crash near the 4400 block of West Charleston Boulevard near South Decatur Boulevard. Police reported that a man entered a running vehicle parked at a Walmart lot while a family member was inside the store. A passenger remained inside the vehicle. The man drove away at a high rate of speed, struck another vehicle, and continued before crashing into a rock and a light pole. The passenger sustained critical injuries and was transported to a hospital, where he died. Police took the driver into custody and stated the incident involved robbery, kidnapping, and auto theft.
