Troopers responded to reports of an erratic driver traveling through residential yards on Shute Road. Before police arrival, Irene McIntyre struck and killed a woman and collided with another vehicle. When troopers arrived, she continued driving and struck additional people while ignoring commands to stop. A trooper opened fire, striking her. She was transported to a hospital where she died from her injuries. A 79-year-old woman, Cheryl Miron, was killed during the incident, and two other individuals were injured. The investigation is being conducted by the New York State Police and the Attorney General’s Office.
