On 04/13/2026, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Queen Creek police officers responded to a home near Sossaman Road and Hunt Highway after reports of a shooting. A man was found with life-threatening injuries and transported to a hospital. The person identified as the shooter barricaded himself inside the home. Deputies and officers attempted to apprehend him. During the confrontation, officers opened fire. He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.
