On 04/15/2026, South Carolina Highway Patrol attempted to stop a motorcycle traveling on Highway 31. The driver did not stop. Police escalated a chase that continued into Myrtle Beach. During the pursuit, the driver lost control on Robert Grissom Parkway near 38th Avenue and crashed. He sustained fatal injuries. The Horry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
