Event : Motorcycle driver killed by police chase crash

OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/23/2026, an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding on Ohio 133 in Blanchester. The driver did not stop. Police chased the motorcycle. During the pursuit, James Gleason attempted to pass a pickup truck in a no-passing zone as the truck turned left onto Northview Road. The motorcycle struck the driver’s side door of the truck, left the roadway, and hit a road sign. Gleason was ejected and died following the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries.
