On 04/25/2026, an Atlanta Police Department officer attempted a traffic stop on a white Infiniti Q50 in the 800 block of Boulevard SE in Atlanta. Police activated emergency equipment and chased the vehicle as it continued driving north at a high rate of speed. During the pursuit, the driver lost control while traveling over a raised pedestrian crossing, left the roadway, and crashed into a utility pole. The vehicle caught fire after the impact. Timothy Favors, 19, a passenger in the vehicle, was removed from the car and later died at a hospital. The driver, Vincent Steele, was ejected and survived with serious injuries. Authorities said the vehicle was suspected to be involved in vehicle break-ins.
