OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :
On 04/25/2026, a Wisconsin State Patrol trooper initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on U.S. Highway 51 north of County Road A in Lincoln County. The driver did not stop. Police attempted the stop and the driver fled. During the incident, the driver sustained a self-inflicted fatal injury while alone in the vehicle. Deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Tomahawk Police Department responded. Authorities have not released the identity of the individual. The investigation is ongoing.
