Cleveland police responded to a domestic violence call involving suicidal statements near East 141st Street and Kinsman Road. Officers said they found Charles Reginald Motley Jr., 33, sitting in a vehicle with a woman and a firearm. Police claimed Motley refused commands and pointed the gun toward officers during the confrontation. Officers opened fire, striking him. Motley was transported to a hospital and died from his injuries on April 12, 2026. Body camera footage released by police showed officers surrounding the vehicle before the shooting.
