OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 04/30/2026, Madison police officers responded to a domestic violence report involving an injured woman with head lacerations at a residence on Wolf Trails Drive in Madison. Police later located Clinton Toland at a home on Adams Drive. Officers entered the residence after receiving permission from the homeowner and confronted Toland inside. Police said Toland pulled out a handgun and locked himself inside a bathroom. Officers heard what they believed was a gunshot moments later. Police forced the bathroom door open and found Toland dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. No officers fired their weapons. Indiana State Police are investigating the incident.
