On 05/02/2026, Arvada Police Department officers responded to the Willow Green Townhomes at 6985 Sheridan Blvd after reports of an armed man involved in a barricade situation. Police established a perimeter around the residence and attempted negotiations for several hours. During the incident, officers encountered the man while he had a gun. Officers opened fire, striking and killing him. The 1st Judicial District Critical Incident Response Team is investigating the shooting.
