On 05/10/2026, Oshkosh police responded to Fleet Farm after reports that a man had stolen a handgun from the store. Officers confronted the man outside the business. Police said the man did not comply with commands and continued walking toward an officer while retrieving a firearm from his waistband. An Oshkosh police officer opened fire, striking and killing him. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is leading the investigation.
