OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 05/09/2026, Douglas County deputies and Special Operations Group officers attempted to arrest Jaquan Marion near 19th and Washington Streets in South Omaha on a warrant connected to parole violations. Deputies said Marion exited a residence and officers attempted to take him into custody. Police said a Taser deployment was unsuccessful and Marion ran toward the rear of the property while deputies chased him. Deputies forced entry into a converted back room. Authorities said Marion retrieved a Glock 19X handgun and fired, striking a deputy in the leg. Deputies returned fire, killing Marion. Five deputies were placed on administrative leave following the shooting. The deputy survived the injury. The investigation remains ongoing.
