OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 05/14/2026, deputies with the Greensville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic incident at a residence on Fiddlers Road. Police said the man initially left the area before returning after deputies arrived. Outside the residence, police said he pulled out a handgun and exchanged gunfire with deputies, striking one deputy. The man then went back inside the residence. Deputies later heard a gunshot from inside the home. Law enforcement entered the residence and found him dead. A 10 year old child inside the home was not injured. The injured deputy was hospitalized in stable condition. Virginia State Police are investigating the shooting.
