On 05/16/2026, Wabash police attempted to stop a motorcycle after police said the rider drove through a red light shortly before 3 a.m. Police chased the motorcycle at high speed through Wabash. The motorcycle went off the roadway near Miami Street and Walter Street and struck a utility pole. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the rider was pronounced dead. Indiana State Police were requested to investigate the crash.
