OPEN RECORDS SUMMARY :

On 05/18/2026, High Point police responded to the 4500 block of Jamesford Drive after neighbors reported that children ran from a home saying their father was stabbing their mother. Officers forced entry into the residence after observing signs of a violent assault. Police said they encountered Carlos A. Osegueda, 48, inside the home covered in blood and holding a knife. According to investigators, officers repeatedly ordered Osegueda to stop, but police said he continued advancing toward them while holding the knife. Officers opened fire, killing him at the scene. Inside the residence, officers found Jessica M. Osegueda, 45, suffering from severe sharp force injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children inside the home were not physically injured. Four officers were placed on administrative leave while the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation reviewed the shooting.
