On 05/22/2026, Pinellas County deputies responded to a reported home invasion in the 1000 block of Candler Road in Clearwater after a woman called 911 and reported that an unknown man had entered her home through the garage while holding a knife. Police said the man assaulted the woman during a struggle before she escaped to a neighbor’s home and called for help. Deputies surrounded the residence and attempted to negotiate with the man for more than an hour. Authorities deployed a drone inside the house before deputies entered and searched the residence room by room. According to Clearwater police, deputies then opened the garage door and encountered Adam Charles Siauciunas holding a gun and a flashlight. Police said he raised the gun toward deputies and two deputies opened fire, killing him. Investigators said it was unclear whether he fired any shots. The Pinellas County Use of Deadly Force Investigative Task Force is investigating the shooting.
