On 05/25/2026, Wichita Falls police responded to the 900 block of Juarez Street after reports that a woman had been shot. Officers located an injured woman at the scene and began searching for Jeremy Daniel Loeffler, 33, who police identified as the suspected shooter. Police later encountered Loeffler near the 400 block of Bailey Avenue. During the confrontation, officers opened fire, striking and killing him. The injured woman was transported for medical treatment. Additional details about the confrontation and the circumstances leading to the shooting were not immediately released. Texas Rangers were assigned to investigate the shooting.
